GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION

Applicants to become a real estate broker in Florida must first complete an approved 72-hour prelicensing course and pass the end-of-course exam.  This course has been prepared by highly regarded experts in the field.  Upon successful completion of the course, applicants will have satisfied the educational prerequisites for taking the state licensing exam.  In order to be eligible to become a broker, the applicant must have held an active real estate sales associate license in Florida or another jurisdiction for a minimum of 24 months within the last five years.  Applicants with Florida sales associate licenses who have been licensed within the last five years may not be licensed as a broker unless they have completed their 45 hours of sales associate post-licensing education.  The online course is self-contained in terms of course materials and the end-of-course exam.  No additional materials are required to complete the course.  Students, however, may wish to obtain an appropriate textbook to supplement the course.  An internet connection necessary to access course materials.  We will issue a completion certificate following passage of the end-of-course exam.  The certificate is required by the State of Florida prior to taking the state licensing exam.  Only a licensed real estate school may offer this course and certify completion and satisfactory test results to the State of Florida.  Brokers who are licensed in other jurisdictions are eligible to become brokers in Florida if they have held a current and valid real estate broker's license for at least 24 months during the preceding 5 years, provided they complete all educational, examination, and other application requirements.  Florida has reciprocity agreements with a limited number of other states pursuant to which certain educational and/or examination requirements may be waived or modified.
